Captain Joe
Tassi
and Michael

After
concluding a successful 27-year career in music as a song
writer and record executive, Joe and his son Michael moved
to Maine in 2003 to pursue their dream of being masters
of their own schooner. Captain Joe has been sailing for
over 30 years and has sailed San Francisco Bay, crossed
oceans and nationally raced one design J/boats.
A
U.S. Coast Guard licensed 100-ton Master Captain, Joe is
committed to making sure that your sailing experience is
safe and enjoyable.
Lazy
Jack's unofficial first Mate is the Captain's son Michael,
who has sailed with his dad all of his life. He enters high
school in the fall and enjoys sharing the Lazy Jack with
guests and is a very able hand.
This father and son team welcomes you aboard their beautiful
and historic windjammer to witness first hand the rugged
beauty of the Maine coast and experience pure sailing adventure.
* Lazy Jack is annually inspected and certified
for passenger service by the U.S. Coast Guard and carries
all required safety equipment applicable to her size, routes,
and service.
